Nigeria! A Failed Nation?

The old, youth or the unborn generations

No category admits this fact, but first of all let's consider this: Is Nigeria a failed country?

From time past even until now, circumstances and situations of the country has left citizens and non-citizens with the believe that Nigeria has failed in the discharge of her duties. And despite her laws, there are still loopholes that puts the whole country in disarray.
Nigeria been the so called giant of Africa with very wide range of land and resources tends to even emerge one of the poorest in its well-recognized abode 'Africa'. Even though we got our independence almost 59 years ago, from the happenings we could say that Nigeria is still a dependent nation that looks up to help from international source and could hardly stand on her own.
From the above facts gathered from every sphere of reports, news and experiences, we can boldly say Nigeria is not yet a failed country but a failing country.
Who is to be blamed?
We sit in the corners of our houses, gossip in the closest of the streets discussing matters arising about the country, news from the report stations, but yet actions are close to impossible.
Who is to be blamed?
The elders sit on throne with greediness and selfishly ruling over both young and old, men and women, not putting into consideration the interest of the masses. They turn deaf ears to the complains of the people forgetting the promises they made during their campaign. They deceive the masses by any means legally or illegally, things they would never do. When they get what they want, they forget about whoever or whatever they promised. They mess up the national treasure and do all manner of unspeakable atrocities. We thought we run a rigid constitution but from experience and facts we are made to know that rigid constitution can be made flexible as long as it suits their selfish desires.
The youth in pursuit of a bright future and career forgets the need to participate in the running and ruling of their own fatherland, only for them to protest when there is any obstacle to the achievement of their dreams laid out through the love of comfort and money or the pressure from parents and guardians.
The unborn generations are in the danger of what has been occurring in their parents’ country, the likes of unending corruption, unfaithfulness, stealing and bribery. All of these and more are what they are likely to experience.
Nigeria is a very great country with able men, equipped potentials and wisdom but these has been corrupted, potentials and wisdom are being in turn used for selfish motives and unending quest for either fame or power.
Who is to be blamed?
Questions are probably running through your minds.
There are questions the old ones would love to ask the youth while youth seek for opportunities to ask the older ones questions they may never have answers too, but even if answers are provided they would never be able to satisfy the desires of the dying, hungry, pained and angry citizens who through the leadership of the past and present governments have been made to see life on its hottest side.
Everyone have their own opinion about who is to be blamed but whatever opinion you come up with, make sure you consider the harms of the past and green light of the danger ahead.
In conclusion, everyone has played a part in the failing of Nigeria either through their actions or silence. No one wants to interfere in the leadership of the country and no one wants to pay the price for a better Nigeria. Obviously, the unborn generations would see no reason to go off the trend their ancestors followed and would stick to the same pattern of the old "so far I make it, I am satisfied" pattern, which would still leave the country on the same page as always. So if you ask me, the youth, old are responsible for the Failing Nigeria.
Even though I tried as much as possible to summarize all of my opinions and thoughts into these few lines, I hope I get someone to agree with me that you and I is what Nigeria needs to turn the new page of her book.
